What methods of payment are accepted?
You can pay your utility bill using your checking account.
Is an email address required to make a payment on line?
Yes, your email mail address is required in the registration process as this is where your monthy bill and email notifications will be delivered.
When is my payment processed?
All payments made by 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on business days will be credited to your Bangor Hydro utility account by the next business day. The payment amount will be debited from your account within three business days from the day the payment is entered.
Is there a cost associated with using E-bill?
No, there is no fee to use this service.
Can I make Recurring Payments?
We offer two types of Recurring Payments - Automatic and
All recurring payments will take effect on your next bill cycle. Your automatic or fixed payment will not pay bills that have already been issued. So please be sure if any bills are in your e-bill history, they are paid on time. You are responsible for ensuring payments are scheduled timely and the amount is sufficient to cover your monthly bills. To avoid late fees for all recurring payments, we recommend your payment is scheduled no less than 3 days prior to the due date of your bill.
Automatic payments allow for the monthly bill amount to be deducted from your bank account: a) when the bill arrives, b) on the due date or c) prior to the due date.
Fixed payments allow for a fixed payment amount on 1st - 30th of the month, or weekly on the same day each week, excluding weekends.
Are partial payments accepted?
Yes. Customers are able to enter the exact amount they wish to pay.
Can a payment be stopped or canceled?
If there are not sufficient funds in the bank account to cover the submitted payment amount, the transaction will be returned to Bangor Hydro and processed in the same manner as a returned check. The returned check fee is $5.00.
Will my account and payment method information be stored in the E-Bill system?
You have the option of storing information for future payments. If you choose not to save your payment method and banking information, you will need to enter the information each time you make a payment.

We're glad you asked! Signing up is a simple two step process. Just click on the link above to go to our on line registration services. Or, visit us later at www.bhe.com and register for online services. Here, you will register for on line services for any of your Bangor Hydro accounts. On line services will allow you to manage your accounts on line all in one place! For each account registered, you can report an outage, request your monthly meter usage and request tree trimming. This is also where you can sign up for paperless E-bill presentment and payment.
How do I change my email address?
On the Profile Edit page under My Account you can enter a new email address. Please note that the you will need to use the new email address to log on from that point forward.
How do I unenroll from E-Bill?
On the Profile Edit page under My Account, there is a check box you can use to unenroll from E-Bill services.
